Volunteers' Week 2009 - Photography Competition 

To mark Volunteers' Week 2009, The Stroke Association ran a competition to find the best photograph demonstrating the value and meaning of volunteering.

From all the entries received, five photographs made it onto the winning shortlist which are showcased below.

All five winning entries received a framed copy of their photograph (donated by Snappy Snaps) and a prize kindly donated by Next. The photographs are also now proudly displayed at The Stroke Association's head office.

 One of the shortlisted winners from the Volunteers' Week 2009.Ralph Mason took this photograph of his wife on her 92nd birthday with her carer. The carer had found some hats to put on to mark this special occasion and to cheer themselves up.
  
 One of the winners of the Volunteer Photo Competition 2009Emsworth Stroke Club prove that limited mobility is no barrier when it comes to joining in. This photograph was taken on a group outing on a harbour boat tour.

 East Mids Vol and Stroke Club ConferenceThe East Midlands Volunteer and Stroke Club Conference 2009 brought together volunteers across the region for training and some fun. These two never stopped laughing during the team building drumming workshop.
