Help??

Hi I had what I was told was TIA on 10 August. On 15 August I saw a Consultant regarding this. I asked him what I should do about work, he asked me what I did and I told him I managed a call center at nights. He replied "Oh,. you will be fine!" I returned to A&E on 20 September as I had some numbness in my right arm and they told me that I had a minor stroke on my left hand side of the brain, leaving a lesion and some speech issues and weakness in my right limbs. My MRI scan was on 4 September and neither my GP or I had heard anything from this. Now I am questioning should I have been signed off work after my so called TIA?? Anyone else have a similar experience???
