The Stroke Association actively funds innovative research into ways of improving the whole stroke pathway.

Using animals in research

Most of the research we support involves people, but we need to learn more about stroke. Using animals in research concerns many people but could it help us increase our understanding of stroke.

Using stem cells in research

Stem cell technology has the potential to improve our knowledge of stroke. It is exciting but also controversial. Stem cells can differentiate into a wide range of different cells; they can repair or replace cells that are damaged, providing a route to recovery.

Our research

Our funding allows researchers to find new ways to stop stroke happening, and treat and support people to rebuild their lives after stroke.

Campaign with us

We are the force for change. By listening to and working with people affected by stroke, we can drive improvements in stroke prevention.
