Stroke must be a priority for the new Government

Stroke is the fourth biggest killer in the UK. There are 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK and this is set to rise to 2.1 million by 2035.

We need your help to persuade the new Government to make stroke a priority.

Add your support

We're calling for three vital actions from the new UK Government:

  •  The Government must remain committed to preventing strokes.
  •  Stroke patients must receive timely treatment in a specialist stroke unit.
  •  Stroke survivors must have the rehabilitation and long term support they need.

Baz can’t believe the work that it’s taken to rebuild his life

"I woke up on the ward with everything spinning, my body felt warped. I lost my mobility on the right-hand side and part of my vision. My speech was gone. I couldn’t get out of the wheelchair. I was devastated."

Graphic text: politicians want your vote, so don't miss the chance to explain why preventing and treating stroke matters to you. Baz, stroke survivor

"For months afterwards I felt horrible. I wanted to die. I still get upset when I think about it. Stroke is awful, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. The work it took me to get into the position I’m in now is unbelievable."
