The ENCHANTED project is a big international collaboration set out to investigate and improve the safety of alteplase, the main drug used in thrombolysis. With our help, the project has delivered some very exciting results.

The project found that a lower dose of alteplase resulted in less bleeding on the brain, and fewer deaths at seven days after stroke, while still retaining most of its effectiveness. This is an incredible achievement. Most patients who have a major stroke want to know they'll survive, but without being seriously dependent on their family. We've now shown this to be possible with the lower dose of the drug.

These results are great, but there are so many more research projects that need funding, more discoveries that need to be made. The more funds we raise, the more research we can do. Please donate today and help us fund other trials as revolutionary, and as potentially life-changing, as ENCHANTED.
