About this service

Dorset County Council have funded this Stroke Association service to provide essential information on your type of stroke, the side effects and to help to reduce the impact it can have.

What the service offers

  • knowledge and expert information on the type of stroke and its side effects, in a range of leaflets, factsheets and formats for the stroke survivor, carers or family members or health care professionals
  • knowledge, information and access to social, peer support and stroke clubs or groups
  • knowledge and information on local leisure and social activities through signposting, or a referral being made on your behalf to the organisations
  • knowledge of other services that may be able to help meet your specific needs.

Who is the service for?

This service is for stroke survivors (including TIAs/mini-strokes) of any age, and families and carers of people affected by stroke, living in Dorset.
