About this service

Greater Manchester Moving Forward after Stroke provides a 12-week programme of exercise, advice and support for stroke survivors to help reduce the risk of further stroke. The exercise and education sessions can help you to improve physical fitness, and explore positive lifestyle changes.

This service offers:

  • support in making positive lifestyle changes which can help reduce your risk of further stroke
  • regular exercise and lifestyle groups
  • friendship networks
  • an individual and personally tailored service.

Who is the service for?

This service is for stroke survivors (including TIAs/mini-strokes) of any age, and families and carers of people affected by stroke, living in only Stockport, Salford and Rochdale. This programme caters for a maximum of eight people.
