The Knutsford and District Stroke Club was formed in 1990 as part of an initiative by the Chest, Heart and Stroke Association to show that there is “Life After Stroke”.

The Club provides social activities for all who have been affected by stroke. This includes not only stroke survivors, but their families, carers and companions. We currently have 23 members who are stroke survivors, nine of whom are accompanied to meetings by their spouses or carers.

Our Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month in Stanley House, adjacent to the Community Hospital in Bexton Road, Knutsford. The meetings are held between 7pm – 9pm and a variety of entertainment and talks is arranged. We always allow plenty of time for a good ‘natter’, tea and cakes, and the always popular raffle.

Two or three times a year we visit local pubs and garden centres for a meal, and we also arrange day trips away to Llandudno and Southport. On these occasions we encourage friends and relatives to come along too.

Transport to and from the club is arranged for all who need it by volunteers who drive their own cars and by use of the Knutsford Community Transport Association Minibus.
