About this service

If you or someone you care about has had a stroke, our service can provide advice and support to help recovery. We’ll work with you and the people you care about to identify your needs and plan how these will be met, enabling you to make the best possible recovery.​

This service offers:

  • support in a group setting with trained volunteers
  • friendship networks
  • information, advice and practical and emotional support
  • access to support groups
  • help to return to work and assistance with access to local leisure and social activities
  • support for family members and carers.

Who is the service for?

This service is for stroke survivors (including TIAs/mini-strokes) of any age, as well as the families and carers of people affected by stroke, living in the Portsmouth area. This includes: Portsmouth, Fratton, Old Portsmouth, Portsea, Landport, Hilsea, North End, Copnor, Anchorage Park, Southsea, Cosham, Drayton, Farlington, Waterlooville, Denmead and Purbrook.
