Speakability Self-Help Groups are run by and for people with Aphasia - language-loss following stroke, head injury or other neurological condition.
At our meetings we support each other, share experiences, make new friends, rebuild self-confidence and develop new skills.
We do not provide therapy.
We practise total communication using words, drawing, pictures and gesture. We all understand Aphasia and encourage each other in our recovery.
We relax and have fun. We raise awareness of Aphasia in our local community and raise funds to support our group meetings, activities and outings.
This group usually meets at the Seminar Room, Oxleas Clinic Suite of the Queen's Mary Hospital in Sidcup.
Please get in touch to check details of meeting dates, times and venue as these may vary.
