Thurrock Stroke Recovery Service provides practical advice, emotional support and high-quality information following a stroke. Whether you are a stroke survivor, carer or family member, we will work with you to identify and address your physical needs through a personalised plan, and support you to rebuild your life after stroke.
This service offers:
Coordinated support throughout your stroke journey;Home visits and/or regular telephone calls;Leaflets, factsheets and information about Life After Stroke Grants and benefits;Help with returning to work, if required;Assistance with accessing local leisure, social activities and self-management tools;Support for carers;Signposting to other organisations that could help.
Who is this service for?
This service is for stroke survivors (including TIAs/mini-strokes), and families and carers of people affected by stroke, living in Thurrock.Please note that the office for this service is based in Maidstone, but the service actually covers Thurrock.There are two groups attached to this service. For further information about attending these groups, please contact Christine Hamilton below.Thurrock Stroke Project - Monday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at The Civic Hall, Blackshots Lane, Grays RM16 2JU.The Stroke Club - Every other Tuesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Tyrrells Hall, 67 Dock Road, Grays RM17 6EY.
