Join Team Stroke for the 2018 Great Bristol 10k Run. 

The race starts on Anchor Road, near Millennium Square and Bristol Cathedral, and runs along the historic Bristol Harbour before continuing along Avon Gorge and taking in the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The return route takes in Spike Island and the Cumberland Basin before passing the soaring Gothic St Mary Redcliffe, finishing on Anchor Road.

Join us to help support those affected by stroke by running the second ever Simplyhealth Great East Run, in September 2018. This half marathon (13.1 miles) follows a scenic route that is suitable for runners of all abilities. 

Join Team Stroke

By joining Team Stroke, you’ll receive all of the following:

  • Stroke Association running top
  • dedicated support from our fundraising team
  • fundraising pack full of tips and ideas
  • regular emails including top training and fundraising tips
  • lots of support and cheers on the day
  • post-race reception with complimentary refreshments in the charity village.

The course

Starting and finishing on Russell Road, runners pass the prestigious Willis building, designed by Lord Foster before heading through the beautiful Holywells Park and travelling down to Ipswich's vibrant waterfront.

The route then passes Felaw Maltings on the way out and back along Wherstead Road, where participants will see Fox's Marina, Suffolk Food Hall and go twice under the iconic Orwell Bridge into Freston.

On returning to the town centre, runners will head towards Ipswich Town FC's Portman Road stadium, passing the statues of two football legends, Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey, before crossing the finish line in the stadium's practice pitch and being welcomed by hundreds of supporters in the stands.

We will be there at the finish line to greet our runners with congratulations, a free massage and plenty of tea.

Charity place

We have a number of charity places available so grab yours fast. Each charity place has a non-refundable registration fee of £10 and we ask you to raise a minimum of £235.

To book your own place, please visit the Great East Run website, then let us know you have your own place by the form at the bottom of the page. There is no minimum sponsorship target, and everything you raise for us will go towards helping stroke survivors.

Great Scottish Run 2018

Join us for the fantastic Great Scottish Run, Scotland’s biggest weekend of running.

On Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September, thousands of runners of all ages and abilities will descend on Glasgow city centre for the popular half marathon, 10k and junior races. 

Join Team Stroke

We have free charity places in both the 10k and the half marathon and we would love you to join our team.

We ask all 10k runners who take a charity place to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship. We ask all half marathon runners who take a charity place to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship. 

All of our wonderful runners will receive full fundraising support from our Community and Events Fundraising Team in Scotland in the lead up to the event, including a running vest and fortnightly emails with top fundraising and training tips.

We will also be there to support you on the day, with our cheer squad on the course and our marquee at the charity village.

Join us at the Bournemouth Marathon Festival and experience running as it should be, with a beautiful coastal route that boasts sea views and takes in Boscombe and Bournemouth piers, with an amazing atmosphere that’s second to none. There’s a distance to suit every runner, including a full marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k and junior races too.

We have free charity places available for all distances that each have a minimum fundraising target:

  • full marathon - £400
  • half marathon - £250
  • 10k - £100
  • 5k - £50
  • juniors - £20

You can sign up for a charity place through the Bournemouth Marathon website.

Or, you can purchase your own place in a race and still join Team Stroke, receiving all of the same support. We just ask that you raise as much as you can. Charity place

Sign up with Team Stroke before 1 March 2018 and you’ll only pay £15. Team Stroke spaces come with a £300 sponsorship pledge but our team is on hand to support you throughout your fundraising.

Own place

Those who secure their own place direct with Yorkshire Marathon will have no minimum sponsorship target but everything you do raise for us will go towards helping stroke survivors.

What happens next

After registering with Team Stroke, you will receive an email confirming your payment and an email confirming you are a part of Team Stroke in the 2018 Yorkshire Marathon.

Endurancelife Suffolk Marathon

Join Team Stroke for the Suffolk Endurancelife Marathon 2018.  This challenging (but flat) marathon takes you through some of Suffolk’s most beautiful forest, moorland, grass and beach terrains.

Help us support those affected by stroke by joining our team and running the Suffolk Endurancelife Marathon on Sunday 20 October 2018. The run will take you through Suffolk’s most peaceful and serene landscapes, the perfect inspiration to get you to the finish line.

The course

The route map can be found on the Endurancelife website. Starting and finishing in the historic seaside town of Dunwich, the run takes in the sites of the wonderful Suffolk Coast Nature Reserve at Minsmere and the popular seaside resort of Walberswick.

Own place

To book on to this fantastic Marathon, you need to go to the Endurancelife website. It costs £44 to enter but if you raise £400 for the Stroke Association, your entry fee will be refunded by Endurancelife when you reach this target.

What happens next

Once registered you’ll receive full information from the team at Endurancelife, giving you everything you need leading up to the event. Please also email us at supportercare@stroke.org.uk to let us know you have registered and are raising money for us.

Beat the Tide is our unique and challenging 10k run set in the beautiful seaside resort of Hunstanton.

Starting by the Alive Oasis Leisure Centre, you will be running along some of Norfolk’s most beautiful coastline. The route takes you right along the beach towards Heacham before turning back towards the starting point. Will you beat the tide?

Participants must be over 16 years at the time of the run. Registration is only £20.

Beat the Tide – 5k Fun Run

Our 5k fun run starts at the same time as the 10k and follows the same route. Entry is open to all ages, £20 for adults and £5 for under 16s.

Your registration fee covers the cost of administration for this event, it is your sponsorship and fundraising that makes a real difference to those living with the effects of stroke. Our team will be on hand to support and give you advice on fundraising ideas to help boost your target.
