Step Out for Stroke is the perfect opportunity for stroke survivors, friends and families to take part in a walk together. Each step you take helps raise awareness of stroke and vital funds for our work in supporting those affected by stroke.

The great thing about Step Out for Stroke is that you can walk at your own pace and in your own time. So, whether you walk just a few steps or the full mile, you’re doing something amazing. Don’t forget to encourage friends and family to enter too and join you on the walk.

What to expect on the day

Upon arrival at the Seafront, you will check in at our registration desk located near the Castle Kiosk, opposite the Grand Hotel. The registration desk will be open from 10am. At 11am your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk beginning at the Castle Kiosk. You will Step Out along the seafront and return to the Castle Kiosk, where you will complete your Step Out. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Jersey event will be held at the Seafront, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 3QA

If you are driving, please note there are a number of car parks along the seafront next to the start area.

What to expect on the day

Upon arrival at Grosvenor Park, you will check in at our registration desk located at the Activity Zone. The registration desk will be open from 10.30am. At 11.00am your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk beginning at the Activity Zone. You will Step Out along tree-lined paths through the beautiful Grosvenor Park. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities, including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Chester event will be held at Grosvenor Park, Grosvenor Park Road, Chester, CH1 1QQ

If you are driving, please note there is no parking onsite. However, there is an NCP car park located on Pepper Street, just 200 yards from the park.

If you are traveling on public transport, local buses 1, 11, 11A, 12, 16, 61, 62 and X1 all stop outside the park.

Upon arrival at Stanley Park, you will check in at our registration desk located at the Arena. The registration desk will be open from 10am. At 11am, your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk beginning at the Arena. You will Step Out through the beautiful Stanley Park, passing the Italian Gardens and the boating lake. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities, including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Blackpool event will be held at Stanley Park, West Park Drive, Blackpool, FY2 9HU

If you are driving, please note there is parking available in the park next to the cafe and along the entrance drive.

If you are traveling on public transport, local buses 18 and 20 travel from the town centre to the main gates of Stanley Park.

What to expect on the day

Upon arrival at Duthie Park, you will check in at our registration desk located beside the fountain at the Riverside Drive entrance. The registration desk will be open from 9:30am. At 10:30am your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk, beginning at the fountain next to the Riverside Drive entrance. You will follow wide paths towards the Winter Gardens before returning back through the park, passing the ponds before returning to the fountain. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities, including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Aberdeen will be held at: Duthie Park, Polmuir Road, Aberdeen, AB11 7WA.

If you are driving, please note there is large car parking accessed off Riverside Drive.

If you are traveling on public transport, local First Bus 17 & 18 along with Stagecoach Bus X6, X7, X8 and 204 all stop outside the park.

Upon arrival at Abbey Gardens you will check in at our registration desk located opposite the Garden Café. The registration desk will be open from 10:15am. At 11am your Step Out event will begin, taking you on a three quarter mile walk around a circular route of the beautiful Gardens. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Bury St Edmunds will be held at Abbey Gardens, Mustow Street, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1XL

If you are driving, the closest car park to the Abbey Gardens is Ram Meadow, Cotton Lane, IP33 1XP.  Parking costs £1.80 for 3 hours or £2.30 for the day.  There is a short walk from the car park to the Mustow Street entrance.

If you are traveling on public transport the local train station is Bury St Edmunds, this is a 5 minute drive/15 minute walk from the Abbey Gardens. Local buses 300, 304, 338, 854 all stop nearby to the Gardens.

At 11.00am your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk around the lake. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Luton will be held at Wardown Park, Old Bedford Road, Luton, LU2 7HA

If you are driving there are two car parks at Wardown Park, one near New Bedford Road and one near Old Bedford Road. There is also plenty of street parking around the park.  

If you are traveling on public transport there are a number of buses which stop outside the park on New Bedford Road.

At 2pm your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk around the boating lake and along the sea front. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Torbay will be held at Youngs Park, Tanners Road, Paignton, Torbay, TQ4 6LP

If you are driving there is a car park at Young Park.

If you are traveling on public transport Goodrington Station is located next to Youngs Park.

Upon arrival at Weston Park you will check in at our registration desk located on the field outside the Weston Park Museum. The registration desk will be open from 12:15pm. At 1pm your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk around Weston Park. All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abilities including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Sheffield will be held at Weston Park, Western Bank, Sheffield, S10 2TP

If you are driving please be aware that Weston Park does not have a car park of its own, the nearest public car park is the Q-Park on Durham Road (S10 2JA) this is a 5 minute walk away.

If you are traveling on public transport the 51 & 52 buses stop outside the park. The nearest tram stop is the University of Sheffield.

Upon arrival at McKee Clock Arena you will check in at our registration desk located at the McKee Clock Arena.

The registration desk will be open from 10.15am. At 11am your step out will begin, taking you on a 0.5 mile (approx.) walk starting at Mckee clock, you will walk towards the café before returning to the Mckee clock.

All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abillities, including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Bangor will be held at McKee Clock Arena, 4a Quay Street, Bangor, BT20 5ED.

If you are driving there are a number of free carparks around the harbour and also pay and display car parks close to the harbour.

If you are traveling on public transport Bangor Train station is the closest rail station and is a six minute walk along Main Street to McKee Clock.

What to expect on the day

Upon arrival at Halliwell Jones Stadium you will check in at our registration desk  which can be found through  gate 6 next to the shop.

The registration desk will be open from 10am. At 11am your step out will begin, taking you on a 1 mile (approx.) walk around the concrete area surrounding the pitch. You can walk round the stadium as many times as you like.

All our Step Out for Stroke routes are suitable for all ages and abillities, including stroke survivors.

How to get there

Your Step Out for Stroke Warrington will be held at Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club, Mike Gregory Way, Warrington, WA2 7NE.

If you are driving parking is available at the Tesco supermarket adjacent to the stadium. If you are traveling on public transport Warrington Bus Station is a short distance from the Stadium. The nearest rail station to the stadium is Warrington Central. When leaving the station turn right, you will see the stadium ahead.
