Thames Bridges Bike Ride

2016 - Entries Now Open

We are delighted to share details of our new look Thames Bridges Bike Ride which takes place on Sunday 26 June. Our new start/ finish hub at the Lee Valley VeloPark in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park makes it easy; with food, entertainment and family activities available to all.

We also have a route for everyone; choose from

  • 8 miles   - along the cycle paths around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the Lee Valley
  • 35 miles - Zigzag over the bridges to the Roehampton pit stop and back
  • 50 miles - the 35 route plus a Richmond/ Kingston loop

Select the distance to see each route in more detail. GPX files will be sent to all those registered one month before the event.

You can also enter as a team

Entering a team is easy, simply include your team name during registration. All riders with the same team name will start together. However, also new to 2016, we now have the capacity to offer extra benefits to teams of 20 or more. Whether it is a team from work, from the cycling club or simply friends and family, let us know and we can talk you though any added benefits.

Volunteering at the event

The ride is on 26 June, but we are looking for volunteers to help promote the event from March. We are looking for support;

Placing posters – we are looking for help to display posters in the local community (supermarkets, bike shops, coffee shops, estate agents etc). We will send all that is needed direct to you.

Promoting the event at station and other events - join us to hand out postcards and flyers at stations and events that suit you.

Email Robert.hope@stroke.org.uk or call 020 7940 1344 to let us know of your interest and we will provide details.

“The Thames Bridges Bike Ride is a fantastic family event, I had a stroke in 2009 and I strongly felt the need to 'give back' to a worthwhile organisation which helps people less fortunate than me, especially as stroke remains the leading cause of adult disability in the UK. The bike ride is a chance to raise money whilst having a good time”
