Give a Hand and Bake

Roll up your sleeves, grab your mixing bowl and get ready to bake a difference for stroke survivors.

This year’s Give a Hand Week will take place from 24-30 October 2016.

We’re looking for enthusiastic cake lovers from all over the UK to hold a Give a Hand and Bake sale to raise some serious dough for people affected by stroke. Will you join us?

Holding a bake sale couldn’t be easier. Whether you rule the kitchen with an iron whisk or don’t know one end of a wooden spoon from the other, everyone can get involved, have fun and bake a difference for stroke survivors and their families. All you need is a generous dollop of enthusiasm and a hungry group of friends, family or workmates.

Why Give a Hand?

Did you know that 75% of stroke survivors lose the use of one of their hands following their stroke? Many have to re-learn to write, eat and even brush their teeth using the hand they wouldn’t normally use.

Give a Hand week is our way of supporting those who face a daily struggle to rebuild their lives – and honouring those who have lost a loved one to stroke. Thanks to you and events like Give a Hand and Bake, the Stroke Association can continue to be there so they don’t have to face recovery alone.
