Recycling your scrap car

Giveacar is the award-winning social enterprise that has raised thousands of pounds for us. Giveacar provide a free nationwide service by:

  • Arranging the collection of your vehicle.
  • Recycling it at an authorised facility or sending it to auction for you (depending on its age and condition).

Every car is recycled to high environmental standards. A minimum of 85% of the weight of your car is recycled and the profits of each sale are then directed to us. Each car raises an average of £80.

Contact Giveacar on 0207 736 4242 and quote 'Stroke Association'. Your details will be taken and a salvage partner will contact you to arrange a collection. All vehicles are collected within seven days of the initial enquiry, if this suits you. Giveacar receives the donation after the sale or disposal. They will process the donation and forward it to us. Tell your friends and family about Giveacar and help us raise vital funds.

Recycling your ink cartridges

The Recycling Factory will donate up to £4.50 for every printer cartridge successfully recycled. It's easy to get involved as all materials are provided free of charge.
To check that your cartridge(s) is eligible for the scheme, visit The Recycling Factory website. Here you can download and print a freepost label – simply stick it on your envelope/package and post your cartridges to The Recycling Factory (max weight 1kg).
If you have a large number of inkjet cartridges that you wish to recycle (approx 100 inkjet cartridges) and you have checked that they are eligible for the scheme, please email The Recycling Factory at to arrange a free of charge courier collection (please ensure you mention the Stroke Association).
We are unable to receive a donation for laser toner cartridges. However, if you have a large number of original toners you are interested in recycling, please contact The Recycling Factory at with a list of the makes and models that you have. Please note that The Recycling Factory can only recycle selected original toners. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact or visit The Recycling Factory website.
