Many of us have heard the phrase ‘One mans trash is another mans treasure’ so why not use eBay for Charity to help raise funds for us. There are a number of ways in which you can do this.
If you’re having a clear out and getting rid of unwanted items, eBay is a great way to earn yourself a bit of extra cash and help us at the same time. You can choose to donate between 10% and 100% of your sale price to us. It’s very easy to set up. Head to our charity sellers page and begin the process to list your item. When you get through to the descriptions page, Stroke Association will be ready in the donate to charity box at the bottom of the page. Tick the box if you’d like to donate, state how what percentage you would like to give and eBay for Charity will collect the funds on our behalf once your item(s) sell.
All sellers listing items with proceeds going to charity will have the blue and yellow eBay for Charity Ribbon. When you’re donating proceeds to us, our charity logo will also appear in your listing so buyers know straight away where the money will be going.
We always have a host of items up for sale from users who are selling items and donating proceeds to us for you to choose from. Plus, around twice a year we’re featured on eBay’s Give at Checkout promotion for one week. During this time anyone buying anything on eBay and paying through PayPal will be given the opportunity to donate £1 or more whilst at the checkout. We’ll let you know when these promotional opportunities are coming via our website, Facebook and Twitter so you’ll know when you can help out this way.
If you’re not buying or selling anything, you can still make a donation. Simply go to our charity homepage and select ‘Donate Now’ tab where you’ll be given a list of options on how much you’d like to donate.

You can also choose to save the Stroke Association as your ‘Favourite Charity’. This simple feature allows you to make an optional donation every time you buy or sell on eBay. All you need to do is go to our charity homepage and select the blue ‘Save as Favourite’ button.
