We all know that a balanced diet is important in keeping us healthy and reducing our risk of stroke and other conditions. But sometimes it’s difficult to know how to make the best choices. That’s why we’re partnering with LoSalt® for a #HealthierUK, to share tips and ideas for small changes that can make a big difference.

Through our partnership you can find more information about how our lifestyles can affect our risk of stroke, as well as the changes big or small we can make to reduce this risk. You'll also find ideas for some delicious LoSalt recipes and ways you can get involved with activities the partnership is supporting, such as this year's Give a Hand and Bake.

One simple change is to reduce your salt intake. Too much sodium in your diet can lead to high blood pressure, which can put you at higher risk of stroke and other health conditions.

Ideally, everyone should cut down or even stop adding salt to their food. But we know that many people would find this really hard because they like the enhanced flavour that salt can provide. If that’s the case then it’s good to know that there is an alternative to regular salt.

LoSalt can help maintain a healthy blood pressure level as it’s an easy switch that contains two thirds less sodium than regular table, sea or rock salt, without any taste compromise.

If you take some types of medication that affect potassium levels, LoSalt and other reduced sodium salt alternatives may not be suitable for you. Check with your GP for advice.
