After remembering your loved ones, you can be certain that leaving a gift in your Will to the Stroke Association will make a huge difference for stroke survivors. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the generosity of our amazing supporters. Together, we can rebuild even more lives.

Each year, legacy gifts make up nearly half of all donations we receive. Without this generous and kind support, we wouldn’t be there to make a difference for tens of thousands of stroke survivors and their families.

We offer a Free Will Scheme for people aged 60 and over, and for stroke survivors of any age.

Watch our short video to hear Miriam Margolyes talk about her own stroke story and how legacy gifts can help us reach even more stroke survivors.

We've come a long way with little funding. Imagine what your gift could help to achieve? A future free from stroke? With your support we believe anything is possible.

There are three main types of legacy gift

  • Residuary - this could be a share (such as 25%) or the whole of, your estate after all other gifts, payments and debts have been made. A residuary gift will hold its value and not be affected by inflation.
  • Pecuniary - this is a specific sum of money, such as £5,000.
  • Specific - a gift of your choice, like a house, or shares.

Already left a gift?

If you've already included a gift to us in your Will, we'd love the chance to say 'thank you' personally.

Letting us know about your gift helps us to plan ahead with confidence. If you'd like to inform us about your plans, contact Sophia Lewis in the legacy giving team.

Your Will is personal to you, and very private. That's why anything you tell us is treated with the utmost confidence.

Legacy events

We hold a number of legacy events across the UK each year, where guests can learn how their donations can make a difference to the future of stroke survivors. Find out more about our upcoming events and how you can get involved.
