Organising a Collection

We know that organising a funeral can be a difficult time and we hope to make the collection process as straightforward as possible.

If you are organising a collection in memory, we can provide collection envelopes to give to family and friends at the funeral or memorial service. These can make gifts worth an extra 25p for every pound donated as they enable Gift Aid. To request our envelopes call our Supporter Care Team on 0300 3300 740 or email

Alternatively, you can organise an online collection by setting up a Remembrance Fund and sharing your fund with friends and family.

Our Supporter Care Team are on hand to answer any questions you may have about organising a collection. You can contact them on 0300 3300 740 or by emailing Alternatively, you can contact your local fundraising team.

Sending in donations

When paying in donations, we’d like to make sure that we process and acknowledge the donation correctly. It would be very helpful if when paying in donations you could let us know:

  • The name of the person the donation is being made in memory of.
  • Your name, address and relationship to the person the donation is being made in memory of.

Please send all cheques and collection envelopes to:
Supporter Care Team
Stroke Association
1 Sterling Business Park
Salthouse Road

When returning collection envelopes, please ensure they are sealed safely within another envelope before sending to the above address. If you have collected cash, please do not send this to us through the post. Please bank the cash and send us a cheque for the equivalent amount or alternatively you can call our Supporter Care Team on 0300 3300 740 and make a donation over the phone.

Information for Funeral Directors

We’re very grateful for the support Funeral Directors show The Stroke Association, both independently and on behalf of their clients. We’d like to make collecting donations at funeral services as simple as possible.

By encouraging Gift Aid at services you can help us receive an additional 25p for every pound donated. The simplest way to enable this is by encouraging families to use our collection envelopes.

You can also make a payment over the phone by calling us on 0300 3300 740 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). When you do pay in donations, please let us know the contact details for the next of kin so that we can acknowledge their generous support.
