We're extremely grateful for the support of funeral professionals. We know you make such a difference to your clients at an incredibly difficult time in their lives.
When someone dies, many families choose to support the Stroke Association by setting up a tribute page, collecting at a funeral or through donations in lieu of flowers. We want to make collecting these donations as simple as possible for you. Here's some information that we hope is helpful:
Tribute and funeral collection pages
Our tribute pages and funeral collection pages offer a dedicated online space to celebrate the life of someone special. Friends, family members and colleagues can share memories, photos, videos and messages of condolence. There's a donation option for families who wish to use the page to raise funds for the Stroke Association in honour of the person who has died, helping their story continue on.
Funeral collection envelopes
By encouraging Gift Aid envelopes to be used at memorial services, funeral professionals help us to receive an additional 25p for every pound donated. You can let families know about our collection envelopes or order them from us by phoning 0300 3300 740 or by emailing us here.
Paying in collections
If you're sending us a cheque and envelopes by post, please could you make sure you include the following information? This is so we can thank the person who has collected the money and add offline donations to existing tribute or funeral collection pages.
- The name of the person the donation is being made in memory of.
- Your name, address and relationship to the person the donation is being made in memory of.
- Whether they also have a tribute or online collection page.
Please send all cheques and collection envelopes to:
Supporter Relations Team
1 Sterling Business Park
When returning funeral collection envelopes, please make sure they are sealed safely and put them inside another envelope before sending to the above address.
Please do not send any cash through the post as it's not safe. We'd really appreciate it if you could either bank the cash and send us a cheque for the equivalent amount or you can make the donation over the phone by calling us on 0300 3300 740.
Over the phone
You can also make a payment over the phone by calling us on 0300 3300 740 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). When you do pay in donations, please let us know the contact details for the next of kin so that we can thank them for their support.
Support for families
We know that the people you work with are going through the hardest of times having lost a family member, partner or friend. If you feel someone needs practical or emotional support, we're here to help. Please share details of our Stroke Helpline which is open Monday to Saturday. We also provide this guidance on bereavement and stroke.
