We know that it’s a challenging time for everyone, but we also know it’s a particularly difficult time for those who have lost a love one or have been grieving during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
We’ve been told that many families who have experienced a loss during a national lockdown or government restrictions are finding comfort in planning a remembrance event to celebrate the life of their loved one at a later time when larger gatherings are able to go ahead.
If you are planning a remembrance event and would be interested in supporting the Stroke Association at your event, please contact our Supporter Care Team on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0300 3300 740.
Arranging a collection
A really easy way to arrange a collection is to set up a Tribute Fund in your loved one’s memory. Tribute Funds are an online space where you can share stories, memories, photos and videos of your loved one with friends and family. All you would need to do is set up a Tribute Fund and share the link with those wishing to attend the event.
If you are wishing to organise a cash collection at your remembrance event, you may be interested in our collection envelopes. These envelopes are a really effective way to donate, as they are eligible for Gift Aid, this means that any donation is boosted by an extra 25% - you can find out more about Gift Aid here. To request our envelopes, please call our Supporter Care Team on 0300 3300 740 or email email@example.com
Paying in donations
At this current time, the processing of any donations made by post may be somewhat delayed, so please do pay in your donations online or contact us by phone wherever possible.
When paying in donations, we’d like to make sure that we process and acknowledge the donation correctly, so please let us know the following:
- The name of the person the donation is being made in memory of.
- Your name, address and relationship to the person the donation is being made in memory of.
Please send all cheques and collection envelopes to:

Lighting a candle of remembrance
We know that people remember loved ones in lots of different ways, and we have been told that lighting a candle of remembrance can bring a comfort to many. If you’re interested in our Stroke Association Candles, you can visit our online shop. All of the money raised from our candles goes towards funding stroke research and helping people affected by stroke.
