Physiotherapists demonstrating an exercise

We've released a new four-week exercise programme led by specialist physiotherapists. The exercises will help you improve your strengthstaminastability and flexibility.

We developed this new programme as part of our partnership with ‘A Stroke of Luck’. A Stroke of Luck is a charity that specialises in exercise-based recovery for stroke survivors.

We split the videos into three levels of difficulty, so you can pick which is right for you.

The programme starts with an introductory video. It explains how the videos will work and explain the difficulty levels. There is also a video with guidance and advice for carers.

The first week's exercises focus on building strength. Building strength is important after a stroke. It can help you maintain balance. It can also make it easier to do everyday things, like going for walks, climbing stairs and picking up your shopping.

Weeks two through four focus on how you can improve stamina, stability and flexibility after a stroke.

These videos do not replace rehabilitation with a qualified therapist. They were developed to support your recovery and improve general wellbeing.

Speak with your GP or physiotherapist, if you have any concerns or questions about the exercises.
