Over the last twenty years, the Stroke Association has worked to build capacity in stroke research, funding in excess of 100 research fellows as well as the UK’s first Chair in Stroke.

As part of a new research strategy, we are now going much further, committing ourselves to build the next generation of research leaders. Over the next few years, we will support 15 Stroke Association Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Reader positions.

These positions will play a critical role in building a vibrant community of stroke researchers across the UK.

To find out more about these opportunities, please read the draft Briefing Document, which will be open for consultation from 6 May until 10 June 2014.  This is prior to the programme launch on 30 June, when the application period will be opened.

Please do share with peers and colleagues and help to ensure the Stroke Association are able to launch the most effective programme that will allow success in capacity building in stroke research.
