We’re excited to announce that we've been selected to go through to the staff vote stage for the ISS Facility Services charity of the year partnership.

This partnership could be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds for us and is a huge opportunity for us to make a great difference to stroke prevention and support. It will bring us a step closer to conquering stroke.

But we need your help!

How can I personally make a difference?

Even if you don’t work for, or know anyone who works for ISS Facility services, you can still help us to win votes by spreading the word, talking to people about the vote and sharing our social media posts. Every vote really does count.

If you know someone who works for ISS Facility Services

If you know someone that works for ISS, you can:

  • Ask them to vote for us and to champion the Stroke Association around their office or site.
  • Post about the vote on social media - tell your friends, family or connections. You can use the hashtags #votetoconquerstroke and #proudtosupport to get the message out and encourage people to vote for us.

If you work for ISS Facility Services

If you are an ISS employee, please vote for the Stroke Association and tell your friends and colleagues to do the same.

You'll have the opportunity to vote through your employee satisfaction survey. This opens on the 1st September 2017 and closes on the 1st October 2017.

Your vote could the change lives of the 22 million people connected to stroke across the UK.

Why your vote is so important

A stroke is a brain attack. It’s caused by a clot or a bleed on the brain. A stroke can happen to anyone, at any time, regardless of age, gender, race or social status. It can happen to the hard working father of three, the baby daughter, the first time young mother, the much-loved grandparent.

Stroke strikes every five minutes in the UK. It can rob you of your speech, your vision, your ability to walk, your memory, your independence and your dignity. It can also kill you in an instant.

Stroke is the second biggest killer in the world. In the UK it kills more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate and testicular cancer combined each year. With your vote we can change this.

The burden of stroke is set to double worldwide by 2030 – despite the huge scale of the problem stroke remains significantly underfunded and misunderstood. The Stroke Association raises just 7% of the funding of the leading health charity in the UK. When you consider the scale and size of stroke we must change this. With your vote we can.

We are the only charity in the UK leading the fight to conquer stroke. We run over 400 services dedicated to giving 67,000 survivors a life after stroke and make the best recovery they can. We invest £3million a year in vital lifesaving research to find the breakthroughs of the future. We raise awareness of stroke and stroke prevention. With your vote, we can prevent more lives from being devastated by stroke.

Your vote can make a real difference - only by working together with companies like ISS and people just like you can we conquer stroke.
