Stroke Care Pathway Training

We provide four one-day training courses that align to the stroke care pathway. The courses can be commissioned as outlined below, or you can build a bespoke day comprising your choice of modules. 

This training is perfect for social care staff that provide care and support for stroke survivors.

What does it cost?

NCFE Level 2 Award in Stroke Awareness

This qualification is perfect for care staff at all levels working in a care home setting with stroke survivors.

We offer two units:

  • Stroke awareness – know what a stroke is, how to prevent stroke and how to manage it
  • Understand the impact of acquired brain injury on individuals – understand the communication needs, personality changes and the impact of challenging behaviour resulting from acquired brain injury.

The total number of guided learning hours is 53 and the course should be completed within eight weeks. 

What does it cost?

This course costs £90 per person to study by distance learning. Learners gain access to the training materials within our online platform and our trainers are available by phone and email to provide support. We work with cohorts from care homes.

We can provide this qualification over two days face to face at a cost of £1,900. Minimum and maximum group sizes apply.

If your organisation is compliant with the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care you may be able to claim some or all of your costs back.

Training for trainers

This course is perfect for trainers and senior carers responsible for ensuring their workforce are stroke aware.  

This two-day course ensures trainers are equipped to deliver Stroke Aware sessions to colleagues at all levels working in a care home setting with stroke survivors. It includes the NCFE Level 2 Award in Stroke Awareness which is accessed via distance learning prior to the course date.

Supporting you

Once you have completed the qualification and training, you’ll be given access to Stroke Aware content and materials so you can confidently roll out the sessions within your organisation. You’ll also join our Professionals Network so you’re kept up to date with the latest thinking in stroke care and support.
