Awarded to outstanding postdoctoral candidates from nursing or allied health professions, Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended to enable you to embark on an independent career in academic stroke research.
They allow you to hold research funds in your own name, and undertake an independent research project under the supervision of an established member of the stroke research community. It's a condition of the award that you seek to obtain further research funds during the tenure of the award, in order to consolidate and advance your career.
We specifically welcome applications from Nurses and Allied Health Professionals but those conducting applied research in the area of stroke are also eligible.
Please contact the Research Office if you are unsure of, or have any queries regarding, your eligibility for this award.
Three years full-time.
Fellowships may be taken up on a part-time, pro-rata basis but the minimum working hours would be equivalent to 0.6 WTE.
Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded on the recommendation of a panel made up of members of the Stroke Association’s Research Awards Pool using the system of expert peer review and a candidate interview. The next awards will be made in March 2018.
A maximum of £175,000 over three years.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a panel interview on Wednesday 14 February 2018.
