Problems with balance are common after stroke. If your balance has been affected, you may feel dizzy or unsteady which could lead to a fall or loss of confidence when walking and moving around.

This guide explains some of the balance problems you might experience after a stroke, including spatial neglect, ataxia and vertigo. It also gives some practical advice on how you can look after yourself and avoid a fall.
