We have appointed Ceri Jackson as the charity’s newest trustee in Wales. Ceri has 25 years’ experience working in the third sector and with healthcare systems across the UK in consultant, executive and non-executive roles.

Willie is 47 and lives in Portadown. Willie was a busy music teacher, performing musician and family man when he had a stroke late one night in October 2017. He spent two months in hospital receiving physiotherapy and occupational therapy and has paid for additional private therapy to help with his recovery. But everything changed for Willie during the pandemic.
We anticipate a shortfall of £1.5 million in our funding programme this year to resume current research and support vital new projects. Immediately after their stroke around 30% of people have a vision problem called hemianopia – loss of vision on one side of the visual field. This leaves them with a ‘blind side’ to their right or left. This project will investigate whether a new treatment can help stroke survivors with hemianopia to manage their vision problems.
