Stroke is one of the biggest killers in Wales and a leading cause of disability, with around 8,000 strokes occurring each year. There are nearly 69,000 stroke survivors living in Wales.
We’re at a turning point for stroke in Wales. The Welsh Government’s Stroke Delivery Plan ends in 2021, so we’re calling on them to develop a new national, strategic plan outlining their approach to stroke care for the future.

The Stroke Association's Stroke recoveries at risk report is based on the responses of almost 2,000 people affected by stroke, including 130 in Wales, making it the largest sample of the stroke community since Covid-19 took hold.
The Stroke Association has launched a Wales-wide campaign aimed at reducing the number of strokes across the country.
