It's common for people to have problems controlling their bladder and/or bowels after a stroke. Though initially very distressing, these problems are often resolved with time. This factsheet explains some of the continence problems that may happen after stroke, and outlines the treatment and services available to help in the short and longer term. This guide is also available as a free download.
