Has your life been touched by stroke? Unless it has, it's difficult to understand how suddenly your world seems to collapse. Having a stroke, or seeing the changes it brings in someone you love, can transform your life. The trauma leaves you isolated, confused and even angry. It leaves a sense of bereavement for the life and independence, which is suddenly lost. The effects of a stroke may be temporary or last for years. Recovery may seem painfully slow, requiring sustained determination and support.
