From 10 to 11 October 2022, over 220 people from across the Stroke Group Network, Stroke Association staff and wider stroke community joined together for the annual Stroke Group Network Conference.

We were delighted to be joined by over 170 group leaders, volunteers and stroke survivors from over 125 stroke support groups. And we also hosted our first watch party too in the Midlands where eight groups watched the live content together.

The two-day programme and online platform were designed with group leaders and volunteers in mind, giving them key information from across the stroke community and tools to help their groups thrive and make a greater impact. Not only did we deliver two days of informative talks, but we created a vibrant online exhibition and group exchange area full of wonderful information for groups to share ideas and learn from each other.

Quotes from this year

Here are some comments made by this year's attendees:

Online attendees -

Brilliant online Conference. Great way to reach so many people.

What a fabulous second day! Loved all of the sessions today and got loads of info, loads of activity ideas and met loads of lovely people!

Exceeded expectations, event was a great way to connect everyone together and a great platform for volunteers.

Watch party attendees -

It was so lovely to meet others in the Midlands face-to-face; we have met online in the midlands forums so it was nice to get to know them a bit better.

Great to share questions on the table and have someone put them into the chat live online which helped us feel connected to the conference.

It was tempting to think I'll just log in at home but I'm really glad I made the effort to come, it's been so lovely meeting others and having discussions in-person.
