Over 150 stroke survivors, carers, volunteers and stroke professionals attended the UK Stroke Assembly North (30-31 May in Crewe). The aim of the event is to give a voice to people affected by stroke and aphasia, providing an opportunity to meet with and influence decision makers.
Speakability Voluntary Groups provide long-term social and peer support to people affected by stroke. They are self-help groups run by and for people with communication difficulties. They meet together to reduce social isolation and rebuild the confidence of members. As a Stroke Group Supporter you will help run the group and organise their annual programme of activities and events.
