The Preston Life After Stroke Support Group is the main social contact point between Stroke Association staff, volunteers and stroke survivors in the Preston area. We drink tea and coffee, eat biscuits and cake in a relaxed community atmosphere. There are regularly guest speakers who come and talk about stroke-related information.
The group supports stroke survivors and their partners in the Worksop/Derbyshire areas. The group provides social and communication support, speakers, outings and hold a raffle at their meetings. The group meets on the first and third Thursday of the month - please get in contact for more information.
We meet for social support and practising conversation/communication skills. Occasionally speakers will come in to talk to us and we also host quizzes, outings and meals. We are fun, friendly and welcome new members.
If you have had a stroke and are of working age, SWAGS offers peer support, information, and help with problems in an informal, friendly setting. New members always welcome. The group meets on the second Friday of every month.
As a Policy and Influencing Reference Group Supporter, you will take part Skypeype calls and email communications to help us shape the campaigns we are involved in, ensuring that we reflect the concerns and priorities of stroke survivors and their families.
