Over 100 stroke survivors, carers, volunteers and stroke professionals attended the event. It offered everyone a chance to share their personal experiences, influence decision-makers and take action on stroke. For many, it was the first time they had attended a UK Stroke Assembly event, gaining inspiration, ideas and support from like-minded people.
Here is what one of the delegates had to say about the event:
“The first Wales UKSA was a fantastic success according to the 15 or so attendees from Bridgend. The venue, food and content were all hailed as excellent and the speakers ‘awesome’, Associate Professor Charlotte Stagg in particular. It was all so relevant, not least as health in Wales is devolved.”
The day concluded with a moving performance from the Strike a Chord Choir Cwmbran.
