This page summarises our policy on website links to and from our site.

Links from this site to other websites

This site contains links to websites operated by parties other than the Stroke Association. Such links are provided for your convenience only. Links to third party sites are identifiable because clicking on them will display the third party's website URL.

When you access any other website by means of a link from this website, you should understand that the Stroke Association does not control such websites and is not responsible for their content. Inclusion of links to such websites does not imply any endorsement of the material on such websites or any association with their operators.

We cannot guarantee that these links will work all of the time and we have no control over the availability of the linked pages.

It is the Stroke Association's policy to obtain permission to link to other websites, and contextual links are provided to sites deemed by us to be appropriate to Stroke Association business, aims and objectives. However, such links are subject to our disclaimer.

Linking to the Stroke Association website

The Stroke Association is committed to working with other organisations which share our aims and values and encourages the development of websites, which will help promote knowledge and understanding of stroke and stroke prevention.

We are happy for other organisations and individuals to link from their own websites to the Stroke Association's website but any such links must not infer any endorsement or sponsorship by the Stroke Association of your products, services, or site content (including any opinions expressed therein). Nothing on your site should imply that any part of the Stroke Association's site is part of your own site, and any page or file that you link to on the Stroke Association site must be called with its URL displayed.

The Stroke Association retains the right to withdraw permission to link to our site without explanation or notice if we think that such links are excessive or inappropriate.

Requests for reciprocal links

The Stroke Association receives numerous requests from other organisations and individuals for reciprocal website links. When considering requests for links from our website to other websites we use the following criteria:

  • Must be directly related to stroke or issues related to stroke.
  • Must be of national interest.
  • Must not be commercial sites*.

*It is our policy not to link from our site to commercial sites whose primary purpose is to endorse or sell products or services, unless such links form part of a partnership arrangement that has been negotiated through our corporate fundraising team.
