West Norfolk Stroke Recovery Service provides practical advice, emotional support and high-quality information following a stroke. Whether you are a stroke survivor, carer or family member, we will work with you to identify and address your physical needs through a personalised plan, and support you to rebuild your life after stroke.
This service offers:
Coordinated support throughout your stroke journey;Home visits and/or regular telephone calls;Leaflets, factsheets and information about Life After Stroke Grants and benefits;Help with returning to work, if required;Assistance with accessing local leisure, social activities and self-management tools;Support for carers;Signposting to other organisations that could help.
Who is this service for?
This service is for stroke survivors (including TIAs/mini-strokes), and families and carers of people affected by stroke, living in West Norfolk. Located at: The Kings Centre, Wellesley Street, Kings Lynn, Norfolk PE30 1QD. No appointment necessary - please just call in. Refreshments available, good car parking facilities and close to the railway and bus station. Long term support groups: Tuesday between 10:30am and 12:30pm at Hunstanton Methodist Church, Austin Street, Hunstanton, PE36 6AL. Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm (not third Wednesday of the month) at Methodist Church, Paradise Road, Downham Market, PE38 9JE. Plus third Monday of the month between 10:30am and 12:30pm at Swaffham Methodist Church, 1 London Street, Swaffham, PE37 7DD.
