Description

Stroke North is a friendly support group, established in 2005 for all stroke survivors and carers. All members of the managment committee are stroke survivors or carers. We meet in a large hall, part of a Community Hub. that is suitable for anyone using a walking aid, or for wheelchair access. There is parking at the rear, with a footpath link to the Centre.
Meetings begin with a chat over a cup of tea or coffee, followed by one of the different activities. We offer a variety of activities, including quizzes, table top games e.g Dominoes, draughts, Beetle, Card Bingo, art and crafts. floor games such as Boccia (a type of bowls), Kurling, We arrange speakers on various topics and organise visits to places of interest. We are currently looking for an exercise trainer to work with the group.
We can arrange a subsidised taxi for anyone who would have difficulty attending meetings, this is restricted to people living within the North Tyneside Metropolitan Borough.We welcome people from surrounding areas. http://strokenorth.org.uk/
