The UK Stroke Assembly events have been running since 2011. Each year our UK Stroke Assembly community continues to flourish as we explore and reach further into new areas around the country, encouraging and empowering new voices of stroke to attend our events. So far over 1,175 people affected by stroke have attended an Assembly event.

In 2019 we held two UK Stroke Assembly events; one event in Northern Ireland and one event in the East Midlands. Over 350 people attended, 230 of which were directly affected by stroke and aphasia. More than 50% had never attended an event like this before.

For the first time, we also filmed some of the talks and workshops from the central event and live-streamed these on social media for people who were not able to be there. Our live broadcast over the two days of the event reached more than 30,000 people!
