Annual leave
You'll start with 25 days per leave year (plus bank holidays). Your annual leave increases by one day for each completed year of service up to a maximum of 30 days after five years continuous employment. (Pro rata for part time).
Sick pay
After successful completion of probation to one year of service, staff are eligible for three weeks at full pay.
After one year of service, this increases to 12 weeks at full pay with additional weeks for each year of service (up to 15 years).
Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
For those eligible to receive statutory maternity pay, we enhance this to full pay for the first 12 weeks.
For those eligible for statutory paternity pay, we enhance this to full pay for three weeks.
Cashback and discount scheme
With our employee cashback and discount scheme, you can make savings on goods and services from 100s of leading retailers and leisure brands.
Employee assistance programme
To aid your wellbeing, we offer a confidential support service concerning a range of work and personal issues. This includes a 24-hour doctor phoneline service, around the clock support through their counselling line, and face-to-face counselling if required.
Learning and development
We're committed to your development. There's a wide range of online and face-to-face courses offered internally, allowing you to grow with the charity and achieve your goals.
You may also be able to apply for a bursary for professional development, (minimum of 12 months service required).
Pension scheme
Our pension offering is the same for all jobs and roles at the Stroke Association - we give parity across all grades - employee 3% and employer 6%.
Contributions are taken via salary exchange, or you can opt for relief at source if this suits you better.
(Due to legislation, the pension scheme is not available for staff based in Jersey or the Isle of Man).
Life assurance
We provide a lump sum death in service payment of 3x your gross salary to help ease the burden on your family. This also includes access to the following services: Bereavement & Legal Helpline, Grief Encounter Helpline and Stress Helpline.
Eye care vouchers
Eye care vouchers are available, offering free eye tests and discounts on glasses depending on requirements.
Long service awards
To acknowledge the dedication and commitment of long serving employees, we formally recognise long-service at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years' service.
Health cash plan
We provide a Health cash plan - this allows you to claim money back to help with the cost of your essential healthcare, such as dental and optical costs, as well as providing access to valuable health and wellbeing services.
And not only do we want to make sure you have these fantastic benefits in place, but your children are also covered in the health cash plan.
'Make Your Week Work For You'
We know that a lot of people would like to work flexibly and encourage all of our employees to make their week work for them and the people we serve.
This doesn't affect your contracted hours, or the amount of work you do. We have formal flexible working processes for this. Instead it's about how you flex your time to make sure that you work well, and live well.
Critical illness cover
Cover provides you with a tax-free lump sum payment if you are diagnosed with a defined medical condition. Your children are automatically covered too.
This cover also gives you access to a Cancer Support Service.
Payroll giving
Did you know that you are able to give money to charity without paying tax on it? We can make the deductions tax free from payroll so your charity of choice receives more.
Homeworking allowance
We pay the HMRC approved limit of £26 per month tax-free for working from home (for those that meet HMRC eligibility).
Paid dependant leave
We allow one week paid leave in a rolling year if you need to take time off to care for dependants.
